As the leaves start to turn and we swap out our summer wardrobes for cozy jumpers (although I think the jumpers have stayed to hand this year…), it's a great time to focus on feeling good inside and out. At Flex, we're all about helping you stay strong, relaxed, and ready for whatever autumn brings. Whether you're looking to stretch out, build some strength, or just keep moving, we've got you covered with our Pilates and Physiotherapy sessions. Let's make the most of this beautiful season.
Workshops
Running is liberating, travelling on your own two feet through different environments under your own steam. Yet, too much of anything can’t be a good thing when done in isolation, causing over development of some muscles and under-use of others.
We focus in this workshop on movement to re-balance your body after running, and breath to build a stronger respiratory system, so you can push more when needed and restore your parasympathetic nervous system post work-out. Simplicity is key in this process, and this workshop will equip you with the skills to practise onward at home.
The workshop will focus on:
- Increasing Strength & Flexibility: Building core and leg strength to propel you forward, while improving range of motion for smoother strides.
- Enhancing Balance & Stability: Improving your coordination and proprioception for better control and injury prevention.
- Deepen Relaxation & Release: Melting away tension in tight hamstrings, quads, and hips, promoting faster recovery and injury prevention.
- Sharpen Mental Focus: Cultivating inner peace and focus through breathwork and meditation, enhancing your running experience.
Overall this workshop will lead you to greater physical mobility, mental resilience and recovery post exercise..
£25 for members, £30 non-members, Free to Platinum memberships.
All of our workshops are bookable below via our Eventbrite page or for further information please email Beki at bekiflexpilates@gmail.com

Polite Reminder
Class Cancellation Policy
At Flex, we understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances take place, which may prevent you from coming to class. Please be mindful if your plans change, to cancel your class via your Team Up profile. Classes are at times holding waiting lists and appropriate cancellation will mean another person can make use of the space.
Regular cancel - A regular cancellation of your class means that you get your class pass back, for the week you are in. Cancelling your class more than 2 hours before the start time will ensure you get the opportunity to re-book it in the same week. (Subject to the class timetable and spaces available.)
Late cancel - A late cancellation means that you have cancelled your class less than 2 hours before the start time. This unfortunately means that you forfeit your class pass for the week you are on, as per the terms and conditions of your membership.
Catch-up passes
Your membership permits you to one or two class passes a week. As per the terms and conditions of your membership on gold and silver plans, you have access to catch up passes (5 and 10 respectively), across a 12 month period (starting from your membership start date) to use for holiday weeks or sickness. Once you have used up your yearly quota, you are no longer able to catch up. If you are unable to make class for a week, get in touch by email to get a catch up pass. Once they have all been used, there is no more ability to catch up. (Catch up passes do not apply to platinum members).
Please get in touch if you have any questions about our policies and procedures. As a business we have to have these in place to be able to continue to provide a service to our wonderful members. We understand at Flex that emergencies happen and we are always here to help.
Bon-voyage Sandie!
Sandie is about to embark on an amazing 12 months of travel with her partner. She has been given the opportunity (after waiting patiently for a very long time) to go on a career break from the NHS. Sandie will be jet setting off in October and we will be eagerly awaiting picture updates from her destinations. We will miss her lots but look forward to seeing her in a year's time.
The lovely Lucy, will be taking over the Monday evening classes. Lucy usually teaches on a Monday morning at Flex and you will be in safe hands.
The Thursday evening class will be taught by myself (Beki) at present. We are hoping to bring a new instructor to the team in the near future, however, we are committed to finding someone who can deliver clinical Pilates to an high standard and this can therefore take time. In the meantime, hopefully my face will do!
Sports Massage Therapist - Lauren
Lauren Myers from My Therapy is now renting the treatment room at Flex, offering a range of amazing services. From sports massage- great for if you are in training, completed a run, or just in need of some deep tissue work, she is ideal for you. She also offers more relaxing treatments such as Hot Himalayan salt massage and pregnancy massage.
What is even better is she has decided to offer our Pilates members an amazing 10% discount* as we do with our physiotherapy services.
Look out for our next blog to help you navigate the decision of whether you should see a sports therapist vs booking a physiotherapy appointment.
*cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer..
A little thank you from me...
It has been a whole year since I officially took the running of Flex over with the amazing support of Jo. I have to say, this is the best job I have ever had. I appreciate each and every Pilates and Physiotherapy client that walks through our door. I would not be able to do this without each and every one of you and our instructors. Thank you!
Best Wishes,
Beki, Jo and Team Flex!
